Women in Adelaide Brighton

Opportunity - Collaboration - Respect - Inclusion - Personal growth

Kathy Crothers – National Logistics Coordinator Concrete Products

Over the last decade, Adbri Masonry has given me lots of opportunities. I like the variety of my role and the continuous improvement. The Certificate IV in Business Administration sparked my interest in health and safety. The company has a genuine focus on safety and “If I see something, I say something”. I am being supported to continue my studies.

Marianne Morcos – Process Improvement Manager

As the Process Improvement Manager, I enjoy working in the business where everyone has an equal opportunity for growth and development. I have worked in a large project team and I now also manage a team. Flexible working hours have also helped me as a working mother. The pace of change is what I enjoy, there is never a dull moment.

Jess Bull - Dispatch Clerk

I love my job, I felt welcome and one of the team from the start.  As Despatch Clerk I provide customer service, take orders and manage queries.  It is a very exciting and busy role.  As a young Mum, I really appreciate the flexibility with my start and finish times.  At Direct Mix there is a great support network and it is very family friendly.

Tammy Di Giacomo – Credit Office Manager

Starting as a casual, then increasing my hours to part time, then to full time has allowed me to balance family life with having a career, which has been amazing.  I now manage an office of 25 people and a team of five.  I love the people I work with, my team is supportive and the flexibility is outstanding.

Lang Cheung – System Administrator SAP Basis

While at university I completed work experience in the IT Department at Adelaide Brighton.  This led to a permanent role which provides opportunities, challenges and intellectual enjoyment.  The people are amazing, willing to help and share ideas.  It is a good place to work and learn, with flexible hours and Birkenhead is a great beach location for walking with colleagues.

Masha Yaghmaei – Contracts Administrator

As a Materials Engineer, I left Iran and chose Adelaide to build my future. I have just had my two year anniversary at Adelaide Brighton! As Contracts Administrator I engage daily with the operations teams and I love the variety of my role. People are treated well and the values are good. I am also very happy to see women in our Company doing well.

Terry Linto – National Logistics Contracts Manager

The diverse and dynamic workplace of Adelaide Brighton has provided me the opportunity for personal growth through a range of positions and locations. My first role was at our Kalgoorlie Depot, then I was employed as a Marketing Analyst in Perth. I have had lots of new challenges with a wide range of responsibilities, leading to a national role today.

Mira Shaw – Customer Service Supervisor

The diversity of opportunities, the challenges and the people has kept me at Cockburn Cement for more than 15 years.  We are continually striving to improve the way we do things.  It is a safe working environment with a focus not only on the job but on you as an employee.

Belinda Wood – Relief Plant Operator

After completing my 3 month traineeship, I was offered the role of Relief Plant Operator which included hands on physical work as part of trouble shooting problems.  I have now been given a new opportunity as a Customer Service Officer. This has been the best company I have ever worked for, everyone is approachable and I am part of a team that gets the job done.

Mary Li - Financial Accounting Manager

Age, nationality, gender does not hold you back in this company, which is one of reasons I love working for this company. My contribution and potential is recognised. After two years as a Senior Financial Accountant, I was promoted to Financial Accounting Manager and assigned a mentor. I recommend Adelaide Brighton to all motivated individuals seeking to challenge themselves and reach their full potential.

Careers in Concrete and Aggregates

Concrete is something we see every day in the buildings and structures around us. But the challenges of getting it from a plant to a building site before it sets, creates a work environment full of energy and drive. The variety in collaborating with everyone from multinational construction firms building bridges, to developers building office towers and residential developments, to home renovators building driveways, creates a complex business environment to challenge an individual’s business and operating abilities. Then, the focus required to operate a successful quarry operation creates a culture of planning and sustainability. While the products themselves might not excite you, the work environment is certainly a stimulating one.
